The partial renovation of NYU’s Academic Resource Center (ARC) reimagined the entry sequence and reconfigured key program areas, including the removal of the existing café, kitchen, and service spaces. The intervention establishes a new identity for the Center through the introduction of a perforated acoustic material that defines the primary volume and enhances both spatial clarity and performance.

As part of the exterior scope, the secondary entrance along Greene Street was eliminated and new windows were introduced, completing the building corner and supporting the integration of two new multi-purpose spaces. A double-height volume adjacent to the existing mezzanine is articulated by a new glass storefront and equipped with AV capabilities for presentations and seminars. This space connects to a more intimate, lower-height area beneath the mezzanine, where an enclosed lounge and flexible-use zone has been created. The project also includes the addition of a new ADA-compliant restroom.
